A 39 dB DR CMOS Log-Amp RF Power Detector with ± 1.1 dB Temperature Drift from -40 to 85°C
This paper presents a temperature compensated logarithmic amplifier (log-amp) RF power detector implemented in CMOS 0.18μm technology. The input power can range from -50 to +10 dBm for RF signals ranging from 100 MHz to 1.5 GHz. This design attains a typical DR of 39 dB for a ±1 dB logconformance error (LCE). Up to 900 MHz the temperature drift is never larger than ±1.1 dB for all 24 measured s...
متن کاملA low-power analog logarithmic map circuit with offset and temperature compensation for use in bionic ears
Logarithmic map circuits are useful in many applications that require non-linear signal compression, such as in speech recognition and cochlear implants. A logarithmic current-mode A/D converter with temperature compensation and automatic offset calibration is presented in this paper. It employs a dual-slope, auto-zeroing topology with a 60 dB dynamic range and 300 Hz sampling rate, for capturi...
متن کاملAn RF-DC Converter with Wide-Dynamic-Range Input Matching for Power Recovery Applications
An improved RF–dc converter based on a class-E rectifier with wide-dynamic-range input matching is presented. The input impedance is controlled by two varactor diodes to compensate for impedance changes with RF input power and dc loading conditions. The RF–dc converter achieved a peak efficiency of 60% and an S11 less than −20 dB over an input RF power range of 12 dB and an operating battery vo...
متن کاملA Low Power Wide Dynamic Range Envelope Detector
We report a 75dB, 2.8μW, 100Hz-10kHz envelope detector in a 1.5μm 2.8V CMOS technology. The envelope detector performs input-dc-insensitive voltage-to-currentconverting rectification followed by novel nanopower current-mode peak detection. The use of a subthreshold widelinear-range transconductor (WLR OTA) allows greater than 1.7Vpp input voltage swings. We show theoretically that this optimal ...
متن کاملA Ternary Digital to Analog Converter with High Power Output and 170-dB Dynamic Range
A prototype of a very high dynamic range 32bits Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) was designed and built for the purpose of direct auditory stimulus generation. It provides signals from less than 100 nV up to 50 Watts peak power output, driving a 32-Ohms earphone or speaker. The use of ternary cells makes possible a 170 dB dynamic range that is basically limited by thermal noise only.
